Google's Network neutrality moved to Internet Protocol (IP)

Google is a well-known supporter of network neutrality. According to Google's Net Neutrality Guide: The principle of network neutrality is that Internet users should be in control of what they see on the Internet and which applications they use. The Internet has operated under this principle since its inception. Net neutrality is basically the same access (access) as the Internet. In our opinion, broadband carriers should not be allowed to use their market penetration to discriminate against competing applications or content. Just as telephone companies are not allowed to tell users who they call or talk to, similarly broadband carriers should not be allowed to control their online activity using their market penetration.

On February 7, 2006, Wint Surf, a co-inventor of Internet Protocol (IP) and Google's current vice president and "chief internet publicist", testified before Congress that "broadband carriers have to do with what people see and do online". "If it is allowed to control, then it will basically be a violation of the principles, because of which the Internet is a big success today.

गूगल नेटवर्क तटस्थता का एक नामी प्रसिद्ध समर्थक है। गूगल की नेट तटस्थता गाइड के अनुसार: नेटवर्क तटस्थता का सिद्धान्त यह है कि इंटरनेट उपयोगकर्ता के नियंत्रण में यह रहना चाहिए कि वे इंटरनेट पर क्या देखते हैं और कौन से ऐप्लीकेशन का इस्तेमाल करते हैं। अपने शुरुआती दिनों से ही इंटरनेट इसी सिद्धान्त के तहत संचालित है। मूलतः नेट तटस्थता इंटरनेट के समान ऐक्सेस (पहुँच) के संबंध में है। हमारी राय में ब्रॉडबैंड कैरियरओं को प्रतियोगी अनुप्रयोगों या सामग्री के खिलाफ पक्षपात करने के लिए उन्हें अपनी बाज़ारी पैठ के इस्तेमाल की अनुमति नहीं मिलनी चाहिए। जिस प्रकार टेलिफोन कम्पनियों को उपयोगकर्ताओं से वे किसे कॉल करें या क्या बातें करें कहने की अनुमति नहीं है, उसी प्रकार ब्रॉडबैंड कैरियरों को इस बात की अनुमति नहीं मिलनी चाहिए कि वे अपनी बाज़ारी पैठ का इस्तेमाल कर ऑनलाइन गतिविधि नियंत्रित करें।

7 फ़रवरी 2006 को, विंट सर्फ़ ने, इंटरनेट प्रोटोकॉल (आईपी) के एक सह-आविष्कारक और गूगल के वर्तमान उपाध्यक्ष तथा “मुख्य इंटरनेट प्रचारक”, कांग्रेस के समक्ष गवाही में कहा कि “ब्रॉडबैंड कैरियरों को ‘लोग ऑनलाइन क्या देखते और करते हैं’ के नियंत्रण की अनुमति दी जाती है तो यह मूलतः उन सिद्धान्तों का उल्लंघन होगा जिनकी बदौलत इंटरनेट आज एक बड़ी सफ़लता है।”
