Watch: Akash Deep Apologises Following Bizarre Exchange With Travis Head

Akash Deep apologised to Travis Head following a bizarre exchange on Day 5 of the third Test match between India and Australia in Brisbane on Wednesday. Akash Deep and Jasprit Bumrah looked quite confident at the start of the day's play and the former looked to play some aggressive shots against Nathan Lyon . While going for a slog sweep, Akash Deep missed the ball completely and it got stuck inside his pads. He quickly took it away and threw it on the ground. The Indian cricketer did not notice that Travis Head thought he will hand him the ball and that led to a chat with the Australian batter. However, the situation did not turn ugly as Akash Deep apologised and the game moved on. Travis Head ultimately ended up dismissing Akash Deep and ending the Indian innings. Play on day five of the third Test between India and Australia was halted due to lightening around the Gabba after the visitors were bowled out for 260. Don't think Travis Head loved that #AUSvIND pic.twitt...

Saim Ayub, Salman Agha Steer Pakistan To Victory In First ODI vs South Africa

Saim Ayub hit a superb 109 and Salman Agha starred with bat and ball as Pakistan beat South Africa by three wickets in the first one-day international at Boland Park on Tuesday. The left-handed Ayub and Salman (82 not out) shared a fifth wicket partnership of 141, rescuing Pakistan from 60 for four. Salman, who earlier had career-best bowling figures of four for 32 as South Africa were restricted to 239 for nine, was named man of the match – but he handed the trophy to Ayub. "Without Ayub we would not have won the game," said Salman. "He was there with the new ball and he set up the game." There were still moments of anxiety for the tourists after Kagiso Rabada had Ayub caught at fine leg with 38 runs still needed. Two more wickets fell before Salman hit the winning boundary with three balls to spare. Heinrich Klaasen made 86 off 97 balls in South Africa's total of 239 for nine but was forced to play more conservatively than usual after the innings stalled...

"If I Get Opportunity...": Star On Potential RCB Captaincy. It's Not Kohli

Rajat Patidar 's international career did not take off as he would have liked, but the Madhya Pradesh batter is confident of "re-creating" the opportunity through domestic matches and don the India jersey again. Patidar's six innings against England earlier this year produced just 63 runs, but the right-hander has shown impressive touch in the first half of the Ranji Trophy and the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. "I enjoyed going to the Test team. But sometimes I feel bad that I missed the opportunity. But it's alright sometimes things don't go your way," Patidar said during an interaction here on Saturday. Patidar has accepted his "failure" and has moved away from that disappointing space. "I think acceptance is the key. You have to accept that there will be failure in the cricketing journey. So, it's important for me to face it and learn from it. "I have just accepted it and I am moving forward. It's a part and parce...

"Bumrah Has Done Most Things Right But...": Shastri Gives Brutal Verdict

Ravi Shastri was left concerned by the inconsistency of India's bowling attack on Day 2 of the third Test match against Australia in Brisbane on Sunday. Apart from Jasprit Bumrah who took five wickets, all India bowlers struggled on a day when Travis Head and Steve Smith ran riot. Australia were 405 for the loss of seven wickets and the former Indian cricket team head coach were left concerned with how badly some of the India bowlers performed. Shastri pointed out that consistency is extremely important for the Indian bowlers when it comes to playing in Australia and added that only Bumrah has "done things right". "They were giving away runs on both sides," he said in an interview with SEN Radio. "Bumrah has done most things right, but I think when you look at the others you think, 'Can they execute?'" Twin century-makers Travis Head and Steve Smith put on a magnificent fourth-wicket partnership as Australia reached a commanding 405-7 at stum...

India Women extended their unbeaten run against the West Indies to nine consecutive T20I victories with a dominating 49-run win in the series opener on Sunday. At the top, young Qiana Joseph dazzled with a 33-ball 49, while veteran Deandra Dottin (52) recorded her first fifty since making a comeback to T20Is earlier this year, but their efforts were not enough. West Indies' hopes were dealt a body blow in the second over when substitute fielder Minnu Mani produced a superb athletic catch to see the back of West Indies' skipper Hayley Matthews (1) off Titas Sadhu (3/37). Joseph cracked five fours and three sixes to keep the scoreboard ticking but West Indies could not produce big partnerships in the middle. Joseph and Shemaine Campbelle (13) put on...

"Do Mongrels Simply Purr?": Gavaskar On Australia Crowd Booing Siraj

Former India cricketer and cricket pundit Sunil Gavaskar has lashed out at Australia's cricketers and the public for portraying Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj in poor light following his fiery send-off to Australian batter Travis Head during the second Test at Adelaide. Amid widespread criticism from Australian fans towards Siraj, Gavaskar has called out the apparent hypocrisy, stating that the same fans would cheer had it been an Australian who gave the send-off. Gavaskar also expressed his surprise at the incident. Gavaskar went as far as saying that should the Australian team choose to be "mongrels", they would be backed by their fans. "Siraj is getting the stick from all the "saints" in Australian cricket who, of course, were known for their impeccable behaviour on the field. It may have incensed Australian fans that Siraj's fiery send-off was directed at Head, who scored a magnificent century, and was also the local boy," Gavaskar wrote in h...

New Zealand vs England Live Score Updates 3rd Test Day 1

NZ vs ENG 3rd Test Day 1 Live Score : New Zealand eye a consolation win as they take on England in the third and final Test at the Seddon Park in Hamilton. A whitewash would be quite a humbling for New Zealand after their 3-0 win on Indian soil last month. The pitch was largely under covers and the weather could play a big part through the Test, with showers forecast on day three. Both teams are already out of the WTC 2025 final race. Upset With Pakistan Board, Coach Jason Gillespie Resigns. Here's Why

Jason Gillespie stepped down from his role as Pakistan's Test team coach and former pacer Aaqib Javed has replaced the Australian for the upcoming two-match series against South Africa, PCB announced on Thursday. Pakistan will play two Tests against the Proteas from December 26, and they are already in the Rainbow Nation for the white-ball leg of the tour. Aaqib is currently the interim coach of Pakistan white ball outfits. Gillespie, whose contract was set to expire in 2026, resigned after the Pakistan Cricket Board didn't review the contract of Tim Nielsen, who was brought in on the recommendation of the former Aussie quick, as the high performance coach of the team. It may be recalled that Gary Kirsten, who joined as the...

Amid Massive Pressure On Rohit, Kohli Takes Big 'Initiative' For Team India

He used to be the cynosure of all eyes at training sessions during his captaincy days and Virat Kohli was once again the centre of attention as he addressed his teammates here on Thursday. After the demoralising 10-wicket defeat in the Adelaide day/night game, the visitors needed a bit of inspiration going into the crucial third Test of the series, and the youngsters in the side couldn't have got a better mentor than 'King' Kohli himself to guide them with his words of wisdom. The team huddles before the start of the training session has been a constant feature for years now and Kohli used to do a lot of talking during his days in charge. He did take a back seat once he left captaincy but with skipper Rohit also under immense pressure after four straight defeats, the senior-most player (in terms of Test debut) had to take the initiative ahead of the match starting here on Saturday. With vice-captain Jasprit Bumrah by his side, Kohli was seen speaking animatedly to the gro...

Several videos went viral on social media where Kambli even struggled to properly conduct himself. However, Kambli has now opened up on his health struggles. The 52-year-old is doing 'better' but suffered a health scare about a month back. Kambli revealed that he is battling a urine infection, but his wife and kids stood with him like a rock and helped him get back on his feet. He added that former India all-rounder Ajay Jadeja came to see him. "I am better now. My wife takes care of me a lot. She took me to 3 different hospitals and told me 'You have to get fit'. Ajay Jadeja also came to visit me. It felt nice. I was suffering from a urine problem. It was just flowing. My son, Jesus Cristiano, picke...
