CSK Seamer Mukesh Choudhary Doubtful Starter For IPL 2023

Chennai Super Kings seamer Mukesh Choudhary is a doubtful starter for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 as he is currently healing from a back injury at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. The confirmation whether the left-armer will miss some part of the tournament has not come yet. The 26-year-old had joined the CSK preparatory camp earlier this month in Chennai before he headed to NCA. The time frame for his return from injury is not clear yet. Mukesh last played a competitive cricket match back in December 2022 for Maharashtra in Vijay Hazare Trophy, which is the country's top 50-over domestic tournament, in Ahmedabad. This injury has hit another dent on CSK's title hopes. Their seam attack has already lost New Zealand quick Kyle Jamieson, who is also recovering from a back injury. Deepak Chahar, the pace spearhead, is also working his way back from injury. The team's in-form opening batter Ruturaj Gaikwad is also injured and recovering. All-rounder Shiva Du...

"When I Fell In Love...": Dhawan Breaks Silence On Separation With Wife

It's been a while since Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan and his wife Aesha Mukherjee parted ways. Since the rumours over the couple's separation began, neither the cricketer nor his wife openly spoke about the topic. However, in an interview, Dhawan finally opened up on the subject, explaining how he and his wife decided to go their separate way. The cricketer also spoke on the topic of 'remarriage', while lending an important piece of advice to youngsters who get into relationships. In an interview on Sports Tak , Dhawan admitted that he 'failed' in marriage but doesn't want to point fingers at other because the decisions he took were his own. "I failed because the final decision is the person's own. I don't point fingers at others. I failed because I was not aware of that field. The things I talk about cricket today, I wouldn't have been aware of the same 20 years back. It comes with experience." The opening batter revealed that h...

"If I Was Selector...": Dhawan's Stunning Take On Shubman Replacing Him

One of the finest opening batters India have had over the last 5-7 years, Shikhar Dhawan finds himself in an unfamiliar territory where he is no longer in the scheme of things in the Indian team in any of the three formats. While it's been a while since Dhawan had played T20Is or Tests for India, he still remained a vital cog in the ODI team. However, following a string of unimpressive performances for the national team in the 50-over format, Dhawan lost his place in the team in ODIs as well. In an interview with Sports Tak , Dhawan opened up on the selection scenario in the Indian team, suggesting it was a fair call from the selectors, the captain, and the coach that they picked Shubman Gill over him in the ODI side. In fact, Dhawan said that he himself would've done the same if he was the selector. Dhawan was asked how long a rope would he have given himself if he was the selector or the captain of the team. "I feel Shubman was already playing both formats and doing...

"Decline Of CSK?": Australia Great's Warning For Dhoni-led "Dad's Army"

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 will be a special one for Chennai Super Kings. After three years, Chennai fans will get to see their favourite team at the Chepauk in a season that could be very well the last for skipper MS Dhoni . Over the years, CSK have defied the odds and defeated far younger and star-studded teams. Their success speaks for itself as they have won the league four times. However, with Dhoni & Co. not getting any younger, Australia great Matthew Hayden wonders how to perceive the aged nature of the side. "They have had this for a little, that they're kind of a Dad's Army - a tagline that they seem to have received. This year is a little bit the same as well," Hayden, himself a former Chennai Super Kings player, told Star Sports. "MS Dhoni is of an age like Ambati Rayudu where they really need to be key players, not just have the potential as leaders of the team. So those two key players in particular, with that age of their side, is...

Captain Powell Powers Windies To Win In Rain-Hit 1st T20I vs South Africa

New West Indies captain Rovman Powell thrashed five sixes as he led his team to a three-wicket victory over South Africa in a rain-shortened first T20I at SuperSport Park in Centurion on Saturday. The match was reduced to 11 overs a side but produced 263 runs and 15 wickets in a frantic contest. Powell, who took over from Nicholas Pooran last month, hit 43 not out off 18 balls as the West Indies chased down a South African total of 131 for eight with three balls to spare. He said the reduction in overs suited several of his players.  "A lot of the guys in the team are used to the T10 format," he said. "We know the ball travels so much here, so 130 was gettable." Opener Brandon King hit 23 off eight balls and Johnson Charles slammed 28 off 14 deliveries as the West Indies made an explosive start, scoring 84 for four in the first six overs. David Miller clubbed 48 off 22 balls in South Africa's innings. Wickets fell almost rapidly as boundaries were hit ...

"We Are Strong But...": Ashwin Fires Back At 'Harsh' Critics Of Team India

After  Suryakumar Yadav 's struggles to translate his T20I form into the ODIs, questions are being raised on the star batter inclusion in the 50-over format. He had an interesting series. His triple golden ducks in the three ODIs against Australia led to some unwanted records but the Indian team management's trust in him hasn't entirely been shaken. While Rohit Sharma , Rahul Dravid and a number of others have backed Surya to bounce back, there remain a few 'experts' who aren't convinced of his adaptability in ODI cricket. R Ashwin, reacting to the chatter, has taken a swipe at the said 'experts' for their harsh criticism. In a video on his YouTube channel , Ashwin fumed at the experts, slamming them for the timing of their criticism. Ashwin also explained that Shreyas Iyer 's injury resulted into India's No. 4 position becoming unstable which led to a number of players being tried at the position. "Shreyas Iyer's injury meant we did ...

Watch: "Shocker" In WPL As Third Umpire Gives Not Out To "Clean Catch"

Mumbai Indians had the perfect game in their Women's Premier League Eliminator against UP Warriorz on Friday. Isabelle Wong (4/15) recorded the first hat-trick of the WPL after Nat Sciver -Brunt's brutal 38-ball 72 as Mumbai Indians stormed into the final with a 72-run drubbing of UP Warriorz. The final of the inaugural WPL will be played between the two best sides that occupied the top two spots of the points table with 12 points each, Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians, on Sunday at the Brabourne Stadium. However, there was a controversial decision, that got everyone's attention in the match.  UP's Anjali Sarvani , after dismissing MI's Yastika Bhatia in the fifth over, looked set to provided another breakthrough with a catch of MI opener Hayley Matthews in the ninth over off Deepti Sharma . On the first legal delivery of the over by Deepti, Sarvani looked like taking a great catch of Mathews by diving forward at long leg. However, third umpire deemed that ball...
